mr. sandman, bring me a meme ♪
I saw this meme going around earlier, so I thought I'd take part as well. I have couple of tropes I always return to, so I'm curious to see which tropes y'all want me to rate & rant about. If you can't think of tropes, here's handy list by trope_bingo, or if you have unlimited time to spare, you can check out TV Tropes.
Send me a Trope and I’ll rate it!
No | rather not | I dunno | I guess | Sure | Yes | FUCK yes | Oh god you don’t even know

It's an amusing trope with good potential for hijinks and shenanigans!

I absolutely love this trope. A good example in fanfiction would be all the canon divergence/AU Hannibal fics where Will is a serial killer too/ends up becoming a serial killer, and then through numerous shenanigans he and Hannibal elope off to Cuba together. Just... there's something really satisfying about two characters who are both bad and totally into each other.

I believe I first came across this in the Torchwood fandom (everyone: "oh no, we're snowed in/stuck inside the Hub, what are we gonna do??" Jack: "well... first, we should try to conserve our body heat..."), and it's had a special space in my heart since then. Works well with any fandom!

Truly gold among tropes, partly because it's so real to life.

This trope should be used more often. It can only lead to either a) hilarity b) romance c) all of the above.

It's not my favourite trope, but if it's done well, it can be fun! Not to mention all sweet (preferrably mutual) angst it could cause... hehe.

Sometimes this trope is written in ways that make me uncomfortable (I often dislike conflict even in fiction), but if it's done well, it's really good!

Mmmm your beautiful Hannibal banner makes me think about this...

Soul bond/soulmate is probably one of my top 5 tropes. It's just a really cool premise in general which results in really exciting fics, and depending on the angle there are really interesting different takes on it!
